there were two possible directions for this movie to go, and it went in the opposite direction from the one i had hoped.

*warning: spoilers ahead*

what i wish happened:

the main character, after realizing that her unsupportive friends were holding her back from achieving her potential, making career moves and accomplishing her lifelong dream of becoming a successful journalist, dumps the friends that have been mocking her and becomes a super powerful and successful female lead.

what really happened:

the main character, after her friends made fun of her for being dedicated to her cutthroat job and her boyfriend breaks up with her for not quitting so that she could spend more time with him, prematurely leaves the job that could have opened up so many doors for her journalism career and gets back together with the boyfriend that dumped her for having responsibilities greater than attending his birthday party.

this was a really short review, which is why i called it a commentary rather than a review, but it sums up my feelings toward this film nicely. anyway, i hope you enjoyed and i'll see you guys next time!

with love,
